Existencial questions (re-revised edition)

We have a new cleaning lady helping us out. The old one was fast, but not so thorough (although she knew how to use a full hour of the cleaning time cleaning our cd´s). Thanks to her I discovered that I DO have some householding instincts: I happen to HATE it when the taps are still dirty (we have a hell of a calcium problem) after cleaning and the old one used the throw-away tissues to clean (which I can do as well, why pay a cleaning lady?) which does not help against calcium. This one is much more thorough, though very slow. But we were kind of happy until yesterday when, coming back from the ´aperitivo Italiano´ in a neighbourhood bar we saw her with another woman rummaging through the garbage container................. So now the question is: do we want a cleaning lady who spends her evenings sorting through trash? Update: actually the second time around she was very nice and still cleaning very well so never mind the garbage. As long as she washes her hands before touching the baby:-) (yes, getting real motherly instincts). Upperdate: but last tuesday she did not show up, phoned 1 hour after she would normally be finished and asked to come over thursday..... so........ one more try........

MAYBE HER WALLET OUR KEYS FELL DOWN IN THE TRASH BIN AND SEH WAS TRYING TO GET IT ? IF YOU PAY HER, SHE WOULD NOT NEED TO LOOK FOR ANYTHING IN THE TRASH SO IT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE, JUS TLOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT SHE LOST.
AS LONG AS YOU ARE PRESENT AT HOME WHILE SHE CLEANS OR YOU DONT LEAVE HER KEYS OR VALIOUS THINGS NEAR HER IT IS OKAY.
MAYBE A PERSON WHO DOES NOT THE THINGS SHE DOES IN A GARBAGE IS LESS HONEST.

yes we have been thinking about that as well, she has more addresses to clean so she earns money. Maybe she was looking for something specific......... but leaving her alone is out of the question......

Why are good cleaning people
Why are good cleaning people so hard to find? What is so difficult about cleaning anyway? (except that it is time consuming, which is the reason why we also would like to hire somebody).
Ours used so much bleach, many of our towels now have bleach stains and the indications on the stove about the level of the flames are rinsed off. furthermore, she dusted only what was in her sight (and since she was not taller than something about 1,40m....).
The cleaning man of Bregje her parents was extremely lazy, asked her parents whether he could have some of their Gispen-furniture (???) and lately practically seduced her mother. (although some may think that is an advantage).
just let me know when you'll find a good cleaning lady, then I'll fly her in.

Well, we are happy enough to keep her (for now) but overly enthusiastic not yet. But it ís a problem, and "ours" also is 1,40 m (seems to be a general rule?). But she does not do the laundry (so no bleach stains:-), anyway that would take time away from her cleaning bathrooms and the kitchen.......

ours wasn't doing our laundry either: the bleach stains were always caused while cleaning the bathroom, let's call it she was being too enthusiastic.... Same happened to Joost K with the same lady.

Hahaha, en ik ben gewoon weer terug in het tijdperk van de schoonmaakroosters... Eigenlijk had ik afgelopen week de badkamer al moeten doen, dus hopelijk vind ik daar vanavond even tijd voor...

Aha, yes here they are also enthusiastic with the bleach but no stains yet....... and the ammoniac but this one luckily is not such a fan of the last.....
