Una vida Holandesa en Mallorca

hoy es el día de LUCAS, 18 de octubre:-) por eso vamos a cenar PIZZA.

We are enjoying the last good days of this year, it is finally bearable during the day, around 26 degrees and *nice* at night (23 degrees in the house). I know that you (living in northerly places) do not want to hear this but last week I bought a new pair of flip-flops:-). Didn´t I tell you before that fall in Mallorca is the best time of the year?
Another new thing I bought is a baby sling, during festivities in Esporles. It is very nice, relieving my arm a bit. Lucas walks most of the time but there are times he prefers the comfortable way of travel;-). Even better is that a friend makes these: check out her website..... http://www.habibibebe.com/
Miscellaneous news: my experiment is going down the drain because I cannot connect my ´mixed gas´ bottles to my CO2 regulators. Sigh. And I will get a taste of cold in the States in two weeks...................

Waaaaaaat? 4,3 miljoen? Naast de deur opgegraven? Waarom weet ik helemaal niks hiervan? Ik vind dat het tijd is voor een belastingsvoordeeltje voor ons arme eilanders.....

Well, after 6 months relative quiet we are back on at least 1 flight/month. In November Massachusetts (COLD), December Sinterklaas in NL (who wants to meet up) and then Dec/Jan Italy for Christmass, new year and skiing. Lucas´ childcare group is called ´airplane´, wisely chosen;-)
I wanted to relax on the flights after that but then there are congresses in Oregon, and experiments on the North Pole (this year I am definitely going)...... mmmmm we´ll see......

We are back up and running. Childcare started, deadlines approaching. Of course Lucas sabotaged his first full day of childcare by vomiting in the car. Impressive, we were *almost* there but I ended up driving back covered in vomit, with an unhappy child (covered in...) and a stinking car. Let me tell you these childseats are not so easy to re-assemble after a good clean. But anyway, we went to the beach this morning. And we have seen friends for lunch, dinner and have more social ´commitments´ later this weekend. Life like before the summer. And the temperature is finally low enough to sleep. As soon as these summer thunderstorms have passed we will gear up for the excursion season:-)

Bye!!!! Now we are REALLY going on holidays. In Spain:-) But the North, bye heat (it is not cooling down...), bye pouring sweat, badly build apartment blocks and dry landscape. Hello pittoresque towns, oakwoods and river valleys:-) And if it rains, so be it:-)
