Diada de Mallorca / Balearic day

Last sunday was the day of the Balearic Islands. Tough luck, sunday so no extra free day;-) We went to see the festivities, many chiringuitos with artesanic stuff to sell. Nothing too interesting. There was free food&drink in the regional houses (all regions from Spain present their specialities) but of course there was too much cue to enter (it ís crisis and there wás free food&drink).
During the normal week I am trying to plan field-time. Not too succesful..... Either the boat is still somewhere else, the students have exams or there is a storm:-(.........

San Sebastián

Like every year, yesterday night there were the celebrations of the patron saint of Palma de Mallorca. This is celebrated by barbecuing in the street (on halfed oil drums put there by the city councel) and concerts.
This year there were disappointingly little barbecues. So people brought their own. Smart! We will do that next year, this was stupid, we (okay, my other half) stood in line one hour for a hot-dog because there was no way  we could get to a bbq. The concerts were not that attractive, an artist I absolutely hate was there, Rosario and not much more. Anyway, at 10pm it started raining and at 11 I was home again....... Tomorrow work because the poor workers of other villages do not have the day of....... And of course I spend the night awake sleepless because I have a reunion tomorrow and need to prepare too many things. Work overload......
