Spring?

Last week it was pretty sunny, bit windy but okay and the almond trees blossomed!!!! The effect was a sweet whiff of spring and a feeling of instant happiness driving to work and overlooking the fields with flowering trees, with the yellow flowers in the grass:-)
Unfortunately it started raining but I know: Spring is near!!!!

Time for sandals

From today on I have abandoned shoes and moved on to what hopefullly will sustain me the next couple of (6) months: open shoes, sandals, flip-flops etc. To start slowly I opted for my Menorcan avarcas (relatively large surface):-) After the swifts returning to the terrace this is the best sign that the SUMMER season is opened, how I love walking around barefooted:-)

It´s a beautiful day!

Respect.

Did I say two tornados?

Of course I meant 4!!! Tornado´s at the same time. Luckily 2 did not get to shore. But it was complete chaos again, more water, less wind than last friday. The local newspaper has some shocking pictures of places TOO close to me (the bridge to my work, the street below). But on hindsight it was a VERY fortunate decision to buy a house in one of the oldest parts of the town, where they constructed on the safest (highest) grounds, before the started filling in the attractive land in the ´torrentes´ (normally dry except when it rains and lately overflowing) or near sea. And also fortunate I never got round to buying a garage for the car (most are flooded with mud and yuk). So, I feel lucky today:-)

Alerta Roja/Red alert

NEE! niet weer! een TWEEDE TORNADO!!!!!!!! Na vorige vrijdag (waarbij we de stad niet meer inkwamen) is er weer een red alert! It was raining like crazy (yes sorry, forgot to start in english) and the holes in our roof are still not looked after! But this time the other side of the house (the usual site) got flooded, not the living room. The supermarket was unaccesible from one side and we got kicked out of the library because the water was pouring in. Good idea to work at home today, because a wall of the institute (parking, nothing serious) apparently fell down. I´m staying put with the buckets ready;-)
