Una vida Holandesa en Mallorca

My parents were visiting, maybe exactly at the right time because I was getting very very nervous with work-related stuff (why on earth am I working anyway? It is the pressure...) and now I had to slow down a bit:-). It is still very hot. No, did I say very hot? It is insanely hot, with 30 C at night and getting impossible to cool down. That is why I haven´t been posting a lot, computer (organic chip in my brain as well) is overheating. Poor baby.
Tomorrow I will accompany our technicians in the field where they will submerge my larval traps, I decided not to dive (too risky 2 months after a C-section grrrrrrumble!!!!!) but to go anyway (control freak, me???) to delegate the operation, take pictures and be outside for a little bit. Because with the baby I am basically locked inside from 12 to 6 because of the scandalous heat and my skin is winter-white. So bring on the sunscreen and sunglasses....... And baby? With his flexible caring father:-)

Since Lucas has been born (and even slightly before) we have been visited by many people. From parents, colleagues and friends in the hospital to parents, family, friends and colleagues at home. Everyone seems suitably (as expected of baby-visiting guests) impressed by the little baby (with the big feet). I am a little overwhelmed by all the attention and presents, all of the sudden even old (more than) friends react to congratulate me when I thought that they might never speak another word to me.
And of course the whole experience is already life-changing in itself. And very beautiful:-) We are probably lucky with the little one as we have been able to go out for dinner, drink aperitivo´s and even show him to the colleagues at work and have lunch in the village. Still the non-working life starts to weigh on me (as expected) and I have decided to go to my Spanish exam this wednesday after all and then slowly try to pick up some pieces of work during the quiet hours (when the cute milk-monster is sleeping). We´ll see how well this goes;-)
Concerning visits, Arne just left (over for a week Holland from California) but my sister-in-law will arrive just 2 hours after and so we continue:-)
